Presidential Decree in Action: OshSU Hosts “Ungujol: Present and Future” Conference

As part of the implementation of President Sadyr Japarov’s decree aimed at strengthening spiritual and moral values in the country, Osh State University held the inaugural scientific conference titled “Ungujol: Present and Future” on May 22.

Distinguished guests at the event included Sulaiman Kaiypov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, laureate of the State Prize of Kyrgyzstan in science and technology, and Honored Scientist of the Republic, as well as Bayas Tural, poet, writer, and candidate of historical sciences. Both delivered keynote speeches.

In their presentations, the speakers emphasized that the idea of “Ungujol” goes beyond preserving the nation’s language, history, and traditions—it also involves fostering a sense of responsibility and patriotism among the younger generation. They stressed the importance of finding a balance between maintaining traditions and adapting to modern realities.

Following the speeches, participants engaged in a Q&A session, during which the speakers shared thoughts on how to effectively instill these values in youth.

The “Ungujol” conference series is set to be hosted in educational institutions across the country. This particular event was organized by the Center for Humanitarian and Regional Studies at Osh State University.

The conference concluded with the presentation of letters of appreciation to the honored guests on behalf of the university.
