At the Third International Symposium ‘The Legacy of Sarakhs’ held at Osh State University, Rector Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov delivered a speech and noted the importance of this symposium in the development of Kyrgyz theological science.
‘Studying such great figures as Imam Sarhsi contributes to a deeper understanding of the historical roots of Islamic science and to conveying spiritual and legal values to modern society. Sarhsi's life is a true example of patience, devotion to knowledge and faith,’ said Kozhobekov.
The full name of the famous Central Asian religious scholar is Abubakir bin Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Abisahl al-Sarhsi. He was born around 1000 in the city of Sarakhs, Turkmenistan. He later studied in Bukhara and gained fame as an outstanding Islamic jurist.
Imam Sarakhsi left behind a profound scholarly legacy in the fields of Islamic law, jurisprudence, theology, and philosophy. His works are still used today as valuable sources in Islamic scholarship.
