To mark the International Day of Older Persons on October 1, second-year students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages visited the “Boorukerdik” Home in Osh and spent time with elderly residents.
The students presented a concert program for the elderly. They sang and danced, prepared a festive table and presented gifts. They also congratulated the residents on the holiday and wished them good health, long life and well-being.
The event was organized under the guidance of Aisana Samieva, a lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy.
“Such meetings are especially important in helping the younger generation understand the importance of human values such as respecting older people, caring for them, paying attention to them and showing compassion,” she said.
Osh Mayor Zhanar Akaev and Chairperson of the Osh City Council Bolot Baetov also attended the event and congratulated the elderly on the holiday. They presented monetary gifts to the respected elderly residents.
