The cooperation agreement between Osh State University and Xinjiang Normal University has been extended. This was announced during the 8th meeting of the Board of the Confucius Institute held on April 13.

The meeting was attended by Rector Kudayberdi Kozhobekov and a delegation from the Chinese side led by Chairman of the University Party Committee Jiang Haijun. The parties discussed further development of cooperation, work plans for 2026, and funding directions. They also evaluated the Confucius Institute’s activities over the past year and identified priority areas for the future. During the event, students presented a cultural program dedicated to Chinese culture.

The Confucius Institute under OshSU was established in 2013. The institute aims to strengthen educational and cultural ties between Kyrgyzstan and China. Since 2016, a Kyrgyz–Chinese Faculty has been operating on its basis. Currently, the faculty trains specialists at bachelor’s and master’s levels in linguistics, Chinese studies, and philology.
