On April 14, during a road accident on the Osh–Bishkek highway, residents and students of Osh State University saved the lives of several people.
Passing by the accident site, Azatbek Zheenbekov, Ayperi Isakova, and pediatrics students Gulnur Kubanychbek kyzy, Dilfuza Nurmatova, Perizat Karybekova and Aizada Orozova immediately provided first medical aid to the injured. They managed the situation until the ambulance arrived and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on one patient for more than 30 minutes. As a result, the victim’s breathing was restored. They also provided necessary assistance to an injured child and safely transferred the child to the ambulance.
The students were on their way to Bishkek to participate in a pediatricians’ olympiad scheduled to take place that day.
According to doctors, quick and correct actions in such situations play a decisive role in saving lives.
