Osh State University is among the 11 state universities of the country that have been granted a “Special Status.”

Our university has achieved the 260th position among the top 984 universities in Asia in the prestigious QS rankings and joined the top 13 universities among 65 higher education institutions in Central Asia. In the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2026, the university ranked 22nd among 73 universities in Central Asia. In addition, Osh State University entered the QS Sustainability Rankings 2026, which evaluates sustainable development, environmental responsibility, and social impact. Among 2,000 universities worldwide, OshSU ranked 1251st for its impact on the environment and society, 1107th in governance indicators, and secured an overall position of 1501st. In the EdNet National Ranking 2026, Osh State University entered the top three universities of Kyrgyzstan with a score of 583.60.

The university currently cooperates with more than 325 universities in 33 countries around the world in developing joint educational and dual-degree programs, successfully implementing academic mobility and dual-degree education programs.

Every year, nearly 1,000 students (including master’s students) and about 500 faculty members participate in academic mobility programs and visit universities in 33 countries under Erasmus+, Mevlana, ITEC, DAAD, Orhun, SCO University, the “Osh Declaration,” and various bilateral cooperation agreements to study and exchange experience.

To encourage students, the university annually awards Presidential Scholarships to selected outstanding students. Every year, 10 students receive the “Atuulduk Scholarship” worth $1,200, 10 students receive the Professor Kanybek Isakov Scholarship, and 22 students receive the Academic Council Scholarship. In addition, the scholarship program “Top 20 Students of OshSU” is also awarded.
