OshSU Awards Certificates to Self-Taught Professionals in Kyrgyzstan

Osh State University has awarded certificates to individuals who have independently mastered their professions. Currently, around 60% of the working population in Kyrgyzstan lacks vocational education. To address this, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic has established an “Independent Certification and Validation Center” at OshSU, under the Ministry of Education and Science.

This center allows individuals with specific skills to be certified as cooks, welders, builders, etc. Candidates demonstrate their skills to a commission of qualified craftsmen by completing tasks, after which they receive a certificate in their respective professions.

On June 11, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Education and Science Rasul Avazbek uulu, the first validation procedure was conducted at the Industrial Pedagogical College of OshSU.

Key stakeholders in the assessment and certification process include employers and independent assessors from the industry. A special commission approved eight individuals for the profession of “tailor with sewing skills.” This process was carried out in collaboration with eight leading experimental centers in the country, under the Ministry of Education and Science.
