Osh State University has enriched its historical archives by acquiring valuable documents that shed light on the institution’s activities during the 1940s-1960s. These materials, including photographs and film footage, were sourced from the Bishkek State Film and Photographic Documentation Archives through an initiative led by the university’s administration.

To facilitate the acquisition, Nursultan Kubanychbek uulu, a candidate of historical sciences and director of the Bilim Lyceum, was specially appointed to collect the documents. As a result, the university’s archive now includes electronic copies of 15 previously unpublished photographs and three film records. Additionally, copies of old newspapers and magazines, preserved in the periodicals section of the Bayalinov Library, were reproduced. These include 25 pages of articles, publications, and other materials from the Osh regional newspaper Leninsky Put, documenting the history of the Osh State Teachers’ Training Institute and the Osh State Pedagogical Institute.

The newly acquired materials will significantly enhance the university’s archives, providing valuable insights into its mid-20th-century activities. The administration plans to continue its efforts to preserve and study the institution’s historical heritage.
