A 60 kW hybrid solar power plant has been launched at Osh State University (OSU). The solar power plant is installed on the roof of the Next Generation Hub building and currently supplies the Robotics Center entirely with solar energy.
The installation of the solar power plant was carried out with the support of Rector Kudaiberdy Kozhobekov. The necessary equipment was purchased in Uzbekistan and installed by specialists. In addition, four employees of Osh State University completed training in the construction and maintenance of solar power plants and received special certificates. As a result, the university has gained the capacity to independently build and maintain such facilities.
The initiative to build the hybrid solar power plant belongs to the Natural Resources Center of Osh State University. According to the Center’s Director, Tajimamat Erkebaev, there are plans to sell excess solar-generated electricity to the state energy sector in the future. He noted that this step will create additional sources of income for the university and strengthen its energy independence.
This project is an important step toward the transition to a “green” economy, the use of renewable energy sources, and the development of modern engineering solutions.
