Rakhmanbek Toychuev: 80th Anniversary Conference
December 17, Osh State University is hosting an international scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birth of the renowned pediatric surgeon and research scientist Rakhmanbek Toychuev. The event aims to discuss current issues in medical science and education.
The conference is attended by doctors from the Osh Regional United Clinical Hospital and the Osh Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital, representatives of research institutes, scholars from higher education institutions, researchers, and students.
The conference, titled “Current Issues in Medical Biology and Education,” highlighted Toychuev’s many years of work in the development of pediatric surgery, his scientific achievements, and his contribution to the healthcare system. He has worked productively in this field since 1971, making a significant contribution to the formation and development of pediatric surgery in the southern region of the country. In 1994, he also founded the Institute of Medical Problems of the Southern Branch of the National Academy of Sciences and headed it for many years.
During the plenary session, issues related to medical science, education, and practical healthcare were discussed, and scientific reports by domestic and international scholars were presented. For his contribution to education, medicine, and scientific research at the university, Rakhmanbek Toychuev was awarded the title of “Honorary Professor of Osh State University.”
As part of the conference, a new scientific journal titled “International Journal of Human Biology and Medicine” will be launched. The journal is jointly established by Osh State University, Osh International Medical University, and the Institute for the Study of Medical Problems. It will cover scientific research in the fields of medicine and biology, and in the future, it is planned to be included in the international Scopus database.
