The Consul General Met with Students

On December 28, students of Osh State University (OshSU) from Uzbekistan met with the country’s consul in Osh, Azamat Boltaev, and representatives of the World Youth Association.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on educational conditions, students’ rights, social support issues, and cooperation between the youth of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

Vice-Rector for International Relations of Osh State University, Kursantbek Attokurov, spoke about cooperation in the field of education between the two countries and noted that ties between higher educational institutions would continue to expand.

At the end of the event, it was announced that a film screening would be held at the Babur State Uzbek Musical and Drama Theater for students and residents of Osh.

Currently, more than 3,000 students from Uzbekistan are studying at Osh State University. The university cooperates with more than fifty Uzbek universities. Within this cooperation, the Aitmatov Center for Kyrgyz Language and Culture operates at the Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature, while the Center for Uzbek Language and Culture functions at Osh State University.
