Confucius Institute Day Celebrated at OshSU
On September 22, Confucius Institute Day was celebrated at the Kyrgyz-Chinese Faculty of Osh State University. The event was attended by Rector Kudayberdi Kozhobekov, Liu Minche, Consul General of China in Osh, representatives of the Confucius Institute, teachers, and students.
The event highlighted the institute’s activities and its role in promoting the Chinese language and culture. Participants also discussed educational and cultural-humanitarian cooperation, as well as Kyrgyz-Chinese friendship and relations.
The international network of Confucius Institutes was established in 2004. Today, the network works to promote the Chinese language and culture, strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between peoples.
The Confucius Institute at OshSU was established in 2013. Currently, around 700 students are studying at the Kyrgyz-Chinese Faculty in the fields of linguistics, translation and interpreting, Chinese studies, and philology. Along with learning Chinese, students have opportunities to explore the history and culture of China.
The institute also organizes Chinese language courses, cultural events, language competitions, and international educational projects.
