Meeting with Olympic Medalist Munarbek Seitbek uulu

Osh State University welcomed Munarbek Seitbek uulu, the silver medalist in boxing from the Paris Summer Olympics, for an engaging session with students. Alongside him were his coach Beganas Sultanbaev and Turdali Omorov, an honored coach of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The university’s rector, Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, highlighted Seitbek uulu’s Olympic success as a landmark for Kyrgyz boxing on the world stage and wished him continued achievements. Kozhobekov also shared updates on the university’s commitment to sports, mentioning its 23 athletic sections spanning 17 sports and six professional clubs.

Seitbek uulu spoke about his journey in boxing, his future goals, and the vital support he has received from his coaches and family. He emphasized that patience and persistence are critical qualities in sports, best instilled from a young age. Grateful for the warm welcome, he wished the students success in their studies.

Seitbek uulu began boxing at eight and later graduated with a degree in Physical Education from Osh State University. Since 2017, he has represented Kyrgyzstan on the national boxing team.

Born on January 1, 1996, in Osh, Seitbek uulu competes in the featherweight division. An International Master, he holds a bronze from the 2023 World Boxing Championship and has claimed numerous victories in international tournaments.
