A three-day seminar was held from March 31 to April 2 at the International Information Technology University in the city of Almaty within the framework of the Erasmus+ Cyber4CA project.
Representatives of partner universities from the European Union and Central Asian countries, ministry officials, and industry experts participated in the event. From the Kyrgyz side, representatives of Osh State University — Head of the Applied Informatics and Information Security Department Ulukbek Erkebaev, International Relations Office specialist Begay Manas kyzy, as well as representatives of Kyrgyz State Technical University — took part and shared their experiences.
On the first day of the seminar, educational programs in cybersecurity in the European Union and partner countries, CyberLab laboratory models, modern teaching methods, and practical exercises were discussed. European partners — Technical University of Madrid, University of Antwerp, Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, and Polytechnic University of Bucharest — presented their advanced experience in the field of cybersecurity.
During the seminar, participants worked in three main areas:
Working groups adapted European experience to the conditions of Central Asia and prepared proposals for developing new master’s modules and creating cyber laboratory infrastructure. At the end of the seminar, it was noted that the developed proposals would make a significant contribution to the development of cybersecurity education in the region and the establishment of modern laboratories.
Starting from the 2026–2027 academic year, within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, a master’s program in cybersecurity will be launched in Central Asian countries, including in Kyrgyzstan at Osh State University and Kyrgyz State Technical University, and student admissions will begin.
