On December 14, an event celebrating Kyrgyz-Kazakh collaboration took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The occasion marked the opening of the “Collection of Works of Sayakbai Karalaev” and a commemorative gathering titled “In Memory of Sayakbai, Mukhtar, and Murat Auezov”, honoring the 130th anniversary of the renowned epic teller Sayakbai Karalaev. Gulzhan Koichumanova, Associate Professor of the Interfaculty Department of the Kyrgyz Language at Osh State University, participated in the event online.
The meeting brought together Kyrgyz and Kazakh scholars, storytellers, and representatives from state and international organizations.
Notable attendees included TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Rayev, Director of the Auezov Institute Kenjekhan Matyzhanov, State Prize laureate of Kazakhstan Ulukbek Esdaulet, People’s Artist of Kazakhstan Saken Karim uulu, and Director of the Auezov House-Museum Diar Konayev, among others.
The event was jointly organized by the TURKSOY organization, National “Manas” Academy and the Committee of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan.
