On April 7, the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication at Osh State University hosted the opening ceremony of “Green Future Week,” an event held in conjunction with Science Week.

This initiative marks the culmination of the elective course “Sustainable Development in Higher Education.” The opening ceremony featured several notable attendees, including Abdyzhapar Akkulov, Director of the University’s Consulting Center for the Protection of Mountain Ecosystems and Green Innovations; Oljobai Shaimkulov, Director of the Institute; Venera Sabirova, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs; along with university faculty and students.

Faculty and students from the Andijan State Institute of Foreign Languages also took part in the event as part of an academic mobility program.

Baktygul Turgunbaeva, Head of the Department of English Phonetics and Grammar, explained that Osh State University offers specialized courses on sustainable development.

In our elective course on sustainable development, students explore the principles of sustainability and strengthen their understanding of environmental, social, and economic challenges,” Turgunbaeva said. “The course culminates in ‘Green Initiatives Week,’ where students apply what they’ve learned by developing and presenting their own projects and startup ideas.”

“Green Initiatives Week” will run from April 7 to 12.
