On December 13, the Kazi Dikambaev Diplomatic Academy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a roundtable discussion on creating a model for green and digital universities in Kyrgyzstan. The event was part of the ERASMUS+ international project (green.kg.).
Representatives from ten universities engaged in implementing sustainable and digital solutions in education participated, sharing their insights and experiences. Abdygany Abduvaliev, the project coordinator from Osh State University, joined the meeting online, while Semetey Amiraliev, director of the International Language Center, attended in person. Amiraliev highlighted the university’s efforts in digitalization, automation, and sustainability within the educational process.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Rasul Abazbek Uulu, expressed his support for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of developing a national model of green and digital universities to tackle climate change challenges.
The roundtable focused on creating a model tailored to Kyrgyzstan’s unique context. Participants shared progress updates and explored ways to integrate sustainable and digital technologies into university infrastructure and education. The event concluded with a series of recommendations for further development, and a resolution outlining the main findings and conclusions was signed by the participating universities.
