Osh State University Student Wins Asian Kickboxing Championship

Sumaya Kalyeva, a student at the College of International Educational Programs of Osh State University, claimed the gold medal at the Asian Kickboxing Championship. Competing in the 52 kg weight class, she secured a 2:1 victory over an opponent from Uzbekistan in the final bout.

The championship took place in Jalal-Abad from May 1 to 5, bringing together top athletes from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan, who competed across various weight divisions.

Kalyeva has been practicing kickboxing for the past three years. She is a two-time national champion in her weight category and holds the title of Candidate for Master of Sports. In addition to her athletic achievements, she is currently studying to become a translator.
