Around 150 participants in Jalal-Abad region took part in a training session focused on the challenges, opportunities, and solutions related to inclusive education. Attendees included social educators from schools, government and civil society representatives, academics, and members of the Enactus team from Osh State University.
The training was organized by faculty members from the Department of Social Work at the Institute of Economics, Business and Management of Osh State University. During the event, participants were introduced to a virtual information and consultation platform being developed for youth with disabilities. The Enactus team also presented their projects, “GFinger” and “GFace,” which sparked active discussion.
Participants offered several practical suggestions, such as launching short-term training programs at Osh State University for speech therapists, defectologists, and educators working with individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, or visually impaired. The need for retraining social workers was also emphasized.
A similar training session had previously been conducted in Batken region, where over 70 individuals took part.
This initiative was led by senior lecturer Kunduzhan Karimova from the Department of Social Work and was implemented as part of a research project funded by an internal university grant.
