
On May 24, Osh State University held its first-ever “Young Polyglot” contest, bringing together multilingual students from various faculties, institutes, and colleges. A total of 17 participants demonstrated their proficiency in multiple languages, including English, German, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Turkish, Russian, and others.
Akmyrza Turgunbaev, a third-year student from the Institute of History and Law, secured first place. Second place went to Nodirbek Rasulberdiev, a first-year student of the Institute of Oriental Studies, and third place was awarded to Ashirbek kyzy Aitunuk, a third-year student from the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication.
The winners received diplomas and cash prizes from the university, supported by the professional association.
The competition was initiated by Semetey Amiraliev, director of the Center for Foreign Languages. The aim was to recognize and promote multilingual students, encourage language learning, and highlight the advantages of multilingualism.
