On December 17, the Institute of Natural Sciences, Physical Education, Tourism, and Agricultural Technologies held a scientific seminar in cooperation with the Kulun-Ata State Nature Reserve.

The seminar brought together students, graduate students, faculty members, and researchers to discuss a newly published textbook on the medicinal plants of the reserve, as well as ongoing scientific studies in the region.

Associate Professor Bolot Karimov presented the textbook “Medicinal Plants of the Kulun-Ata Nature Reserve,” prepared as a result of long-term research. The authors of the publication are Bolot Karimov, Aida Dursunbaeva, Marat Berdali uulu and Kambarali Abdisattrov. Copies of the book were donated to the institute’s library and reading room.

Institute Director Abdirashit Nizamiyev highlighted the potential for developing sports tourism in the Kulun-Ata region of the Kara-Kulyan district. In addition, researcher Kambarali Abdisattrov shared the results of scientific expeditions carried out by Osh State University scholars in cooperation with the reserve.

Participants also learned about scientific publications produced in 2006–2007 under the guidance of the late Professor Bolot Kulnazarov, as well as extensive herbarium and illustrated plant collections transferred to the reserve’s museum. Representatives of the Kulun-Ata State Nature Reserve emphasized that these expeditions played a key role in establishing the reserve’s museum.

The seminar marked another important step in strengthening scientific collaboration between Osh State University and the Kulun-Ata State Nature Reserve.
