Ecologists, experts, and civil society activists gathered to discuss the preservation, development, and enhancement of Osh city’s green spaces. The event, titled “Green Osh: A Green City of the Future,” took place at Osh State University on March 18.
During the meeting, Abdizhapar Akkulov, Director of the University’s Consulting Center for the Preservation of Mountain Ecosystems and Green Innovations, delivered a presentation on modern approaches to urban greening. Experts highlighted the role of green spaces in creating a comfortable ecological environment and presented recommendations to the mayor’s office on tree protection measures. They emphasized that implementing these strategies would help reduce air pollution, increase resilience to climate change, and ultimately improve the quality of life in Osh.
The event aimed to draw the attention of municipal authorities to the critical importance of tree preservation and stressed the need to incorporate sustainability principles in the city’s greening initiatives.
