
On May 13, Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Liu Jiangping paid a visit to the Kyrgyz-Chinese Faculty of Osh State University as part of his inaugural working trip to southern Kyrgyzstan. Accompanied by Vice-Rector for External Relations Kursantbek Attokurov, he met with faculty members and students.
During the visit, Ambassador Liu toured the academic facilities and engaged in discussions with the faculty's staff. In his remarks, he emphasized the distinctive role of Osh State University in fostering Kyrgyz-Chinese relations and expressed a strong interest in deepening cooperation. He also praised the students for their impressive proficiency in the Chinese language.
Liu Jiangping assumed his post as Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan in December 2024.
At present, the Kyrgyz-Chinese Faculty enrolls approximately 450 students in both bachelor’s and master’s programs. The institute has established partnerships with over 80 universities in China, collaborating in education, research, and academic exchange.
