Maksat Totobaev, Head of the Ranking Department at Osh State University, participated in a four-day training seminar at Naryn State University under the Erasmus+ project titled “Development of Financial Autonomy of Universities in Kyrgyzstan” (DEFA).
The event brought together both national and international partners. During the seminar, the project’s national coordinator, Nurlan Omurov, highlighted its strategic importance, noting that DEFA aims to support Kyrgyz higher education institutions in reducing financial dependency while upholding state accountability and aligning with international standards.
The seminar served to update partner universities on the project’s progress and to address matters related to the preparation of the interim report. Ongoing collaboration in advancing financial autonomy within the education sector is also planned.
The Erasmus+ DEFA initiative explores opportunities to enhance the financial and economic independence of universities in Kyrgyzstan.
