The Osh State University Women’s Council is holding orientation meetings for first-year female students in September and October. The meetings aim to help students adapt to university life, ensure their safety, and foster a culture of mutual respect.

During the meetings, students receive information about university regulations, dress code, personal responsibility, and appropriate behavior in public places. Law enforcement specialists also provide advice on personal safety, protecting their rights, preventing negative social phenomena, and responding appropriately to dangerous situations.

According to Gulnara Seyitkazieva, Chair of the Women’s Council, it is important for young people transitioning from school to university to adapt to a new environment, make independent decisions, manage their time effectively, and build positive relationships with lecturers and fellow students.

“The beginning of the academic year is an important stage in the lives of newly admitted university students. For young people transitioning from school to university, adapting to a new environment, making independent decisions, managing their time effectively, and building constructive relationships with lecturers and fellow students are particularly important. Taking these factors into account, we are holding orientation meetings for first-year female students in accordance with the Women’s Council’s work plan.”

To date, meetings have been held at the Institute of Pedagogy and Arts, the Faculty of Kyrgyz Philology and Journalism, and the College of International Educational Programmes. The meetings will continue across all OshSU divisions until the end of October.
