Central Asian Ambassadors Discuss Cooperation with OshSU
On September 24, Osh State University hosted a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Latif Gandilov, Tajikistan’s Ambassador Nazirmad Alizoda, and Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Saidikram Niyazkhodjaev.
The meeting was opened by Rector Kudayberdi Kozhobekov, who provided information about the university’s achievements and international cooperation. According to him, nearly 50,000 students, master’s and PhD students currently study at OshSU, including around 10,000 international students.
As part of its cooperation with Uzbekistan, OshSU has established partnerships with 70 higher education institutions. These partnerships include faculty and student exchanges, joint research, guest lectures, and academic mobility programs. Centers for Uzbek language and culture also operate at OshSU, while centers for Kyrgyz language and culture have been established at higher education institutions in Uzbekistan.
In cooperation with Tajikistan, OshSU has partnerships with seven higher education institutions. The partners conduct joint research, participate in international conferences, prepare dissertations, and implement educational projects.
Cooperation with Azerbaijan is developing in the areas of academic mobility, scientific research, and student exchange. OshSU cooperates with several higher education institutions in the country, including Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) and Baku Eurasian University.
During the meeting, the ambassadors spoke with international students studying at OshSU and students majoring in International Relations. They answered questions on education, science, academic mobility, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
The participants also discussed expanding cooperation in education, science, and humanitarian fields with the support of the diplomatic missions of the three countries, implementing joint international projects, and strengthening academic mobility.
