OshSU Faculty Members Attend Language Day Events in Uzbekistan
On September 23, State Language Day was celebrated at the Chyngyz Aitmatov Center for Kyrgyz Language and Literature at Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature.
At the invitation of the university, OshSU representatives Aikabat Ismanova, Director of the A. Navoi Center for Uzbek Language and Literature, and Baktygul Baitikova, Head of the Department of Philological Education Technologies, took part in the event.
Students of Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature presented information about the history of Kyrgyz writing, its stages of development, and its current state. They also performed poems by Kyrgyz poets and writers.
Representatives of OshSU, in turn, delivered presentations on the development of the Kyrgyz language, its role in society, and its importance as the state language. In addition, the faculty members gave a guest lecture at Nizami Tashkent State Pedagogical University on the topic “The Development of the Kyrgyz Language: Yesterday and Today.” The lecture covered the history of the formation of the Kyrgyz language, its stages of development, and current language policy.
A lecture titled “Features of Teaching Kyrgyz and Uzbek Literature in Connection” was also organized. The participants discussed ways to effectively use the literary ties between the two peoples in education.
