Osh State University Discusses Medical Insurance for Foreign Students
Representatives from the Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund in Osh met with university leaders in the city to address the implementation of the Law “On Compulsory Medical Insurance of Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic,” which took effect in 2023, and to examine insurance-related issues for foreign students.
Key topics included the challenges universities face in issuing insurance policies for international students, the necessity of medical coverage, and the role of universities in raising awareness and organizing efforts related to student insurance.
Fund representatives emphasized the crucial role universities play in informing foreign students about insurance. They highlighted that medical insurance ensures timely healthcare access and reduces students’ financial strain. Additionally, they urged universities to enhance insurance mechanisms and actively engage in the process of insuring foreign students.
