The team from the University of Cadiz, led by Rafael Jimenez, Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Javier de Cos, Chief Director for Language Policy, and Andres Santana, the director of the international center for Eastern Europe and Central Asia arrived to Osh State University.
Kudaiberdi Kojobekov, rector of Osh State University, Dilmurat Tursunov, director of the Higher School of International Educational Programs, and representatives from the university’s departments and programs met with the guests.
The parties discussed collaborative PhD programs, scientific internship programs, joint management of dissertation research, joint undergraduate and graduate programs, language training programs, and the opening of an Kyrgyz-Spanish center in Osh State University.
The delegation will stay at Osh State University for 3 days. Visitors will tour Osh State University’s facilities and give guest lectures. They will attend the opening of the Kyrgyz-Spanish center at Osh State University on September 7.
At the Higher School of International Educational Programs’ Department of American and European Integration, Spanish is now a compulsory subject for first and second years. Students begin participating in the Erasmus + program in their third year. Osh State University also houses a Spanish language center.
Since 2011, Osh State University has collaborated with the University of Cadiz as part of the Erasmus + program.
