The international conference "Sustainability of Mountain Ecosystems: Development and Protection" is held at OshSU. Participants include Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Rasul Abazbek uulu, OshSU Rector K. Kozhobekov, experts from Poland, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, representatives of local authorities, scientists, lecturers, and students.
The forum received thematic reports on the issues surrounding the country and the preservation of mountain ecosystems.
OshSU established the company "Jashyl Muras" (green heritage) in order to guarantee climate sustainability and increase forest areas by planting 5–6 million trees. 200 saplings and walnut seeds were planted in Jalpak-Tash territory by faculty and students.
OshSU is one of the first universities in the country to distribute grant money for the creation of scientific initiatives. Therefore, 5 million soms were granted to 9 projects in 2021, and 12 million soms were granted to 14 projects in 2022. Seventy percent of all projects were devoted to climate resilience and the preservation of mountain ecosystems.
