A discussion on andragogy, continuing education opportunities, and modern educational trends was recently held at the Osh State University Professional Development Center. Participants explored issues related to professional development for teachers, contemporary adult education methods, and the evolving concept of lifelong learning.
The meeting was attended by Nurzhamal Mapaeva, Vice-Rector for Public Relations and Youth Policy; Djamila Asanbekova, Academic Secretary of the University; department heads; faculty members; and staff of the Center for Advanced Training. Tashbolot Zhoroev, Director of the Center, emphasized that the primary goal of andragogy is the continuous development of each individual’s educational potential.
“Today, education is not limited to young people but has become a lifelong process for everyone. Therefore, every teacher must continually enhance their professional skills and master new teaching methods,” said Vice-Rector Nurzhamal Mapaeva.
Osh State University began implementing its andragogy program in 2023. Special training courses have been developed, and a series of training sessions have already been conducted to support teachers in their professional growth.
