A scientific and practical conference titled “Modern Methods of Diagnosis and Treatment of Menopause and Andropause” was held on October 30 at the International Medical Faculty of Osh State University.
The conference addressed key issues related to hormonal health, prevention of complications during the climacteric period, and the overall impact of menopause and andropause on human health. Participants highlighted the importance of strengthening professional cooperation among obstetricians and gynecologists, urologists, endocrinologists, and therapists.
The event was organized by the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Surgical Disciplines of the faculty. It brought together faculty members and students from the International Medical Faculty, the Faculty of Medicine, and the Medical College, as well as practicing physicians and family medicine specialists from Osh city and the Osh region.
Associate Professor Gulzhamal Subanova noted that the conference included scientific presentations, practical training sessions, and a participant survey.
Menopause marks the natural end of a woman’s reproductive phase, typically occurring between the ages of 45 and 55, and is accompanied by hormonal changes. Andropause, on the other hand, refers to a gradual decline in testosterone levels in men after the age of 45. Both are natural aging processes, and regular medical supervision is recommended for maintaining overall health.
