Scientists led by Abdijapar Akkulov, Director of the Mountain Ecosystem Conservation and Green Innovations Consulting Center at Osh State University, held a public meeting in the Dostuk rural municipality of Aravan District.
The event was titled "The Role of Women in Building a Climate-Resilient Society."
During the meeting, representatives of Osh State University explained the causes of climate change and its impact on the environment, water resources, agriculture, and people's livelihoods. They also emphasized the importance of joint efforts to reduce climate risks, improve waste management systems, ensure environmental safety, and achieve sustainable development.
Participants took part in an interactive exercise called "The Tree of Solutions," where they identified the main environmental challenges in their communities and proposed practical solutions. As a result, joint recommendations were adopted on the sustainable use of natural resources, expanding green spaces, promoting environmental education, and supporting women's green initiatives.
