OshSU Lecturer Conquers Yukhin Peak
Kanibek Dzhanibaev, Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Pedagogy, Journalism and Arts of Osh State University, took part in an expedition to the Pamir Mountains and successfully reached the summit of Yukhin Peak, located at an altitude of 5,130 meters above sea level.
The mountaineering expedition began on July 8. On the first day, Dzhanibaev met four Chinese climbers at the base camp of Lenin Peak and ascended to the first camp together. On July 9–10, the team remained at the base camp due to unfavorable weather conditions and continued their preparations.
On July 11, the expedition reached the summit of Yukhin Peak in the Zaalay Range of Chon-Alay District. The peak is well known among mountaineers. Located near Lenin Peak, it offers panoramic views of the Pamir Mountains.
According to Kanibek Dzhanibaev, the expedition was an important stage in preparing for high-altitude climbing. He plans to attempt the ascent of Lenin Peak next year.
