Scientific Research in Kara-Shoro Park
Faculty from the Department of Economic Geography, Sectoral Economics, and Tourism at the Institute of Natural Science, Physical Education, Tourism, and Agricultural Technologies at Osh State University conducted a scientific expedition to the Kara-Shoro State Nature Park on July 28-29.
They studied the park's ecological status and observed its flora and fauna. They also monitored tourist flow and assessed the impact of tourism and agricultural activities on the natural environment.
The study found that, thanks to the relatively low number of tourists visiting the park, the natural environment is well preserved. In particular, the abundance of young shoots of shrubs and trees indicated that the natural restoration of the ecosystem is proceeding successfully.
The scientific expedition was organized as part of the grant project "Substantiation of the Potential of a Green Economy and Sectoral Diversification for Sustainable Development: The Case of the Osh and Batken Regions of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Andijan Region of the Republic of Uzbekistan," implemented at Osh State University.
The expedition was attended by Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor Abdurashit Nizamiyev, Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor Kalybek Samiev, Candidate of Geographical Sciences Syrgak Ibraev, and Senior Lecturer Zhanarbek Sultanov.
