OshSU Hosts “Unity Week 2026”

This year’s week focuses on the role of youth and women in developing local communities and strengthening peace.

On September 25, the opening ceremony was attended by representatives of state and local government bodies, international and civil society organizations, university faculty members, and students.

At the opening ceremony, Oktobр Kapalbaev, Head of the Department for Political and Economic Research, Development of Management Reforms, Monitoring and Analysis of the Presidential Administration; Ernis Toltoev, Deputy Mayor of Osh; Kudayberdi Kozhobekov, Rector of OshSU; and representatives of international organizations delivered speeches and congratulated participants on the start of the week.

The event features discussions on strengthening social cohesion in the Fergana Valley, the role of civic initiatives in developing local communities, promoting women’s local leadership, and youth participation in public processes. Participants are also discussing the prevention of gender-based violence, climate change adaptation, digital safety, prevention of hate speech, and social responsibility.

OshSU students and faculty members are actively participating in the events.

“Unity Week 2026” aims to strengthen mutual trust and cooperation in society, support the development of local communities, and create opportunities for young people and women to actively participate in public life.
