Faculty of Natural Science, Tourısm and Agricultural Technologies is on the show "Journey through OshSU"

Umut TS’s next trip to the faculties continued at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Tourism, and Agricultural Technologies. This show provided information about the conditions created for education, scientific and industrial bases of the faculty.

According to the resolution No. 1142 of the Council of People's Commissars of the Kyrgyz SSR dated August 10, 1939, the Osh Institute of Teachers was opened in 1940. Students were majoring in natural science and geography for the first time on its basis.

In the 1952-1953 academic year, the Departments of Botany, Zoology, Chemistry and Physical Education conducted their activities at the Faculty of Natural Sciences.

In 1954-1955, the Faculty of Natural Sciences was renamed as the Faculty of Biology.

In 1960, the faculty was renamed as the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography in connection with the educating of new specialists in geography along with the above specialties.

In 1966-1973, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography was again renamed as the Faculty of Biology, and it was headed by associate professor B. Alyshbaev.

In 1985, the Department of Geography was reopened on the basis of the Department of Zoology.

The faculty was headed by the following people: docent Ch. J. Zhumabayev (1974-1986), professor B. Murzubraimov (1986-1988, (1990-1993), docent A.Kirgizbaev (1988-1990), docent D.T.Altybaeva (1993-1998), docent A.T. Toktomamatov (1998-2003), professor T.T. Zhumabaeva (2003-2005), docent O. Kolanov (2005-2005) 2014), docent T.A Mamytov (2014-2019).

Since January 19, 2019, Professor A.G. Nizamiev has been holding the position of the dean.

Today, the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Tourism, and Agrarian Technologies is a recognized educational and scientific center for training highly qualified specialists in the fields of chemistry, biology, geography, tourism, and geodesy, not only in the southern region but also in Kyrgyzstan and the Fergana Valley.
