The Kazakh language and culture center, a branch of the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilev, was opened at the Faculty of Kyrgyz Philology and Journalism. A delegation led by Zhanna Kurmangalieva, vice-rector for science, commercialization, and internationalization of Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilev and Ardak Beisenbay, dean of the Faculty of Philology, came to the ceremony. The consul of Kazakhstan in Osh, Mukhtar Karibay, and the academic staff of the faculty of Kyrgyz philology and journalism led by the rector Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov took part in the event.
Currently, 30 students are studying at the Kazakh Language and Culture Center, a branch of the Eurasian National University at OshSU. Training of specialists in the branch is carried out in two areas of higher professional education: translation and Russian language and literature. In the future, it is planned to increase the number of educational programs in the fields of natural science, physics, and IT. Students study in Osh for the first two years and in Kazakhstan for the next two years.
“The branch's establishment not only improves collaboration between universities, but it also advances international friendship and cooperation, as well as cooperation in the fields of science and education. OshSU was one of the five universities in Kyrgyzstan to be granted a special status. To reach the world ranking after five years, efforts are now being made. One path of our efforts could be characterized as the L. N. Gumilev branch of the Eurasian National University. A branch of OshSU will soon be established at the Eurasian National University”, said the OshSU rector Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov.
The center will be led by Abdymitalip Murzakmetov, head of the department of Kyrgyz literature at the Faculty of Kyrgyz Philology and Journalism. About 150 works of Kazakh literature, 300 postcards, and 200 badges were brought to the center by Abdymitalip Murzakmetov from his personal library.
The Kazakh language and culture center is open for use by lecturers and students for conducting scientific research, as well as representatives of the Kazakh diaspora in Osh.
