
A new Korean Language and Culture Center called “Hoshim” has officially opened at the Higher School of International Educational Programs at Osh State University.
The opening ceremony, held on April 11, was attended by Kim Gap-yong, Vice-Rector of Kwangju University, Kursantbek Attokurov, Vice-Rector for External Relations of Osh State University, as well as faculty members and students. The event featured a cultural performance showcasing elements of both Kyrgyz and Korean traditions.
The center was established in collaboration with Kwangju University (South Korea) and is designed to support in-depth study of the Korean language and cultural exchange. It offers opportunities for Osh State University students and faculty to study, work, and participate in academic exchange programs in Korea. The center is also open to the wider public interested in learning Korean.
Kim Gap-yong announced that his foundation will provide financial support to the first group of students studying in Korea through the center.
Kwangju University contributed $20,000 towards renovating and equipping the center with the necessary resources.
