On December 12, Osh State University held a series of literary and cultural events dedicated to National Literature Day.
As part of the celebrations, the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication organized a week-long program entitled “Literature as a Source of Values and Greatness.” The program brought together scholars, undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty members from the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University. During the week, invited experts delivered lectures on various aspects of literature. In addition, student-led master classes on methods of teaching Kyrgyz literature were held to support young faculty members in Osh.
In parallel, the Institute of Economics, Business, and Management conducted an event devoted to the legacy of outstanding Kyrgyz literary figures Alykul Osmonov and Chingiz Aitmatov. A special competition was organized for students, allowing participants to demonstrate their knowledge of the lives and creative heritage of the poets and writers.
The events aimed to strengthen students’ interest in literature, promote reading culture, and preserve national cultural values.
