On March 3, a scientific-practical seminar-training titled “The New Format of Teaching History in the 12-Year Education System: Critical Thinking and Information Literacy” was held at the Institute of History and Law of Osh State University together with history teachers of Osh city.
The seminar addressed актуальные issues of modern history education and proposed ways to implement new educational standards. The trainers focused on developing students’ ability to analyze information, improving their skills in working with historical sources, and forming the ability to distinguish fake information.
It was noted that today students receive historical information not only from books but also through TikTok, YouTube, and other social networks. Therefore, the main task of teachers is not simply to provide ready-made information, but to teach students to critically evaluate and verify it. Information literacy was highlighted as an important tool in protecting against historical distortions.
The event was organized by the Department of World History and Methods of Teaching History to familiarize teachers with new teaching methods and to exchange experience.
