The authors of the business idea participated in trainings organized by the Business Park of OshSU and won a grant of 2,000 US dollars (170,000 soms) for the implementation of their start-up project. Equipment and furniture necessary for the project were purchased, management of Uzgen International Medical College of OshSU allocated space in the building, and local women and girls began to be provided with services.
“The uniqueness of this start-up is that our student and mentor proposed a company idea that was pertinent to their line of work, researched the need for a women’s health center in the city of Uzgen, and effectively applied the knowledge and abilities they had gained through business training. Future plans call for the establishment of women’s health facilities in the villages of Myrza-Ake and Kurshab. Business Park of OshSU will continue to organize trainings for young people, undergraduates, postgraduates, and instructors in collaboration with partners like USAID and the Agahan Foundation, and will continue to provide comprehensive support to leading business ideas and start-ups" said Erlan Kamalov, the director of the Business Park of OshMU.
Nine trainings were organized by OshSU Business Park during the 2022–2023 academic year. The authors of 327 start-up projects chosen from over 1000 business ideas learned pertinent skills and information throughout those trainings, giving them the chance to launch their own companies. More than 40 profitable company initiatives have received more than 10,000,000 som in investment.
