A round table discussion titled “Needs, Prospects, and Challenges of Teaching Oriental Languages to Schoolchildren” was held at Osh State University on January 25. The event brought together Saltanat Amanova, head of the Osh City Education Department, and principals from 70 schools across the city.
Participants emphasized the importance of teaching oriental languages—such as Arabic, Turkish, Persian, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese—to school students. Collaboration in this area is actively taking place with the Institute of Oriental Studies at Osh State University.
The event was co-organized by the Institute of Oriental Studies and the Osh City Education Department.
Currently, the institute is home to over 300 students studying oriental languages, conflictology, and various disciplines in oriental studies, African studies, linguistics, and philology.
