A team of medical students from Osh State University achieved third place at the International Surgery Olympiad, which took place in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, from October 16 to 18.
The university was represented by Muhammedaziz Bakytbek uulu, Saidullo Kalmurzaev, and Bekzat Orozaliyev - talented students from the Faculty of Medicine. They competed in various categories, including neurosurgery, surgical and suturing techniques, and clinical case analysis.
The team was mentored by Taalaibek Seytbekov, Acting Head of the Department of Hospital Surgery.
The Olympiad was held at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy as part of the International Forum of Young Scientists and Students, brought together participants from medical universities across Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan. The event provided a platform for young researchers and future doctors to exchange knowledge, demonstrate their professional skills, and strengthen academic cooperation among universities in the region.
