On October 22, a master class dedicated to the Day of Social Workers and Trade Unions was held at the Social Clinic of the Department of Social Work, Institute of Economics, Business and Management, Osh State University.
The interactive session, titled “Towards Resilience through the Body: Body-Oriented Therapy in Working with Conflict and Stress,” focused on maintaining the professional well-being of social workers and overcoming psychological stress.
The master class was conducted by Kunduzhan Karimova, senior lecturer and trainer at the Department of Social Work, and Deliya Mikheeva, a practitioner of body-oriented therapy and specialist in crisis counseling. The trainers introduced participants to practical techniques for strengthening psychological resilience through the body and managing emotional exhaustion.
According to the organizers, social work is a profession that demands high moral and emotional responsibility. Specialists who work daily with people’s life challenges are often exposed to stress, social tension, and psychological strain, which can negatively affect their mental and physical health.
The event aimed to help future social workers prevent professional burnout, master body therapy methods for coping with emotional stress, and develop effective self-help skills.
During the master class, participants engaged in exercises designed to develop empathy through body therapy, understand and express emotions, and maintain stability in conflict situations.
