Osh State University Renews Cooperation Agreement with Kyrgyz National University

On April 3, a delegation led by Dogdurbek Chontoev, the rector of Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University in Bishkek, visited Osh State University to strengthen inter-university collaboration.

During the visit, the delegation explored the “Central Asian Spatial Analysis and Remote Computing” and “Mineral Resource Innovation” centers at Osh State University’s “Future Generation Hub.” They were introduced to ongoing scientific research, as well as the university’s information and communication infrastructure.

At a meeting with university leadership, including Osh State University’s rector, Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, discussions focused on digitalization efforts and potential areas for joint cooperation. A renewed memorandum of cooperation was signed, reaffirming commitments to collaboration in education, scientific research, international relations, and academic mobility.

This visit marks a significant step in strengthening ties between our universities,” said Kozhobekov. “Both institutions now hold special status in Kyrgyzstan, and we shared insights into the reforms taking place at Osh State University. We have set ambitious goals for training specialists who will contribute to the country’s economic growth and agreed to collaborate on initiatives related to 12-year education.”

As part of the visit, 28 faculty members of Osh State University received certificates for completing an advanced training program on “International Law” at Kyrgyz National University’s Institute of Personnel Retraining and Advanced Training.

Expressing gratitude for the hospitality, Rector Chontoev emphasized that such visits help universities exchange experiences and adopt best practices. He also presented a five-volume collection of works by Jusup Balasagyn, published in honor of Kyrgyz National University’s 100th anniversary, to Osh State University’s library.

Later in the day, the delegation will tour the medical clinic, the Faculty of Medicine, and the Faculty of International Medicine on Osh State University’s Ak-Buura campus.

Osh State University and Kyrgyz National University have a history of cooperation in academic mobility, education, and scientific research.
