On November 26, a groundbreaking procedure was conducted at the Osh State University Medical Clinic: a 65-year-old patient underwent aortocoronary bypass surgery, described by doctors as “transplantation of a blood vessel to a beating heart.”

Cardiac surgeon and professor Bakytbek Kadyraliev explained that this operation improves blood circulation to the heart by creating new blood vessels, which helps the heart function more efficiently. “By addressing blood supply deficiencies, this procedure enhances cardiac performance and normalizes circulation,” he said.

The surgery, which lasted two hours, was performed by a team of doctors led by cardiac surgeon Djachalyk Abdimitalip uulu, with Professor Kadyraliev invited from Russia. The patient is currently in stable condition.

OshSU Rector Kudaiberdi Kojobekov highlighted the clinic’s advancements in cardiac care: “Our clinic has conducted numerous surgeries, both complex and routine. Recently, we established the necessary infrastructure for cardiac operations, with over 30 such procedures performed to date. We are also preparing to introduce cutting-edge equipment to further improve healthcare services for our citizens.”

The clinic boasts a Philips device designed for early diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Doctors plan to begin utilizing this technology in the coming days. With fully equipped departments, the center is now capable of performing a wide range of operations.
