On October 23 and 24, Osh State University is hosting the Russian Week of Mathematics and Exact Sciences. This event is part of the implementation of the Russotrudnichestvo grant, “Organization and Conduct of Events for 9th-11th Grade Students in Russian Language Schools and Teacher Qualification Enhancement in the Southern Region of the Kyrgyz Republic.”
Osh State University is the first to open its doors to school students and subject teachers as part of this initiative. In three cities in the southern region of Kyrgyzstan (Osh, Jalal-Abad, Kyzyl-Kia), additional educational programs in mathematics (“The Fascinating World of Mathematics”), physics (“The Fascinating World of Applied Physics”), and computer science (“Virtual Worlds”) will be implemented over six days (two days in each city). These programs include lectures and practical sessions for senior high school students. Concurrently, teacher qualification enhancement courses will be provided, aimed at improving professional competencies in teaching natural sciences in three directions: physics, mathematics, and computer science.
This project is carried out within the framework of the Decade of Science and Technology, focusing on promoting Russian education abroad and supporting the study of the Russian language and Russian schools in foreign countries. It involves sending Russian educational professionals abroad and organizing scientific, educational, methodological, and enlightening events. This project will contribute to improving access to quality Russian education and attracting talented young individuals to pursue bachelor's programs in Russian universities.
Teacher qualification enhancement courses not only promote the dissemination of the best practices in Russian education and enhance teachers' competencies but also strengthen the motivation of educational personnel to continue teaching in the Russian language.
