Kudaiberdi Kojobekov, the rector of Osh State University, met with Aibek Sulaimanov, the Football club Aldiyer’s president, as well as the coaches and players.
K. Kojobekov stated that he is interested in the Aldiyer football club moving to Osh State University, that he anticipates the club producing positive results in the future, and that he will provide financial and material support for the club’s promotion to the Premier League of Kyrgyzstan.
The birth of the first professional level football club among universities in Kyrgyzstan will definitely improve Kyrgyz football, according to Timur Abdullayev, a representative of the Kyrgyz Football Federation in Osh and Osh Oblast who attended the conference.
The Football club Aldiyer was established in 1994 to represent Kurshab village from Osh Oblast. It made its Premier League debut in 1998 season and took part in the Southern zone’s preliminary round of the tournament.
The club took part in local competitions in the southern region of Kyrgyzstan in the following years. It also developed into one of the strongest teams in the region between the years of 2000 and 2010.
In 1998, 2014, and 2016, the Aldiyer team made it to the Premier League of Kyrgyzstan. Also, it won the first league of Kyrgyzstan for three times.
Currently, the club has roughly 200 young men from the Kurshab village administration who play football.
Previously, OshSU had a professional volleyball club, and now a football club has joined the University. Also, opening of professional basketball and table tennis clubs is underway.
All these measures have one motive and that is developing student sports, finding students who are interested in sports and setting up conditions for the defense of the nation’s honor.
