Arapov Baiysh Arapovich (1942-2022)

The nation's scientific and education sectors have suffered an irreversible damage. Professor Arapov Baiysh Arapovich passed away. He was a superb member of the Kyrgyz Republic's educational system, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, and a doctor of physical and mathematical sciences.

In 1942, Professor Baiysh Arapovich was born in the Batken region's Samarkandek village. He earned an honors degree from the Osh State Pedagogical Institute in 1964. He defended his Doctoral thesis in 1971.

Over the years, he held positions as a teacher, assistant professor, department head, dean of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, institute director, vice-rector for distant learning at OshTU, and vice-rector for scientific endeavors at Osh State University.

Over 200 scholarly articles and five books have been written by him. He has six patents and seven certificates for copyright.

A total of 4 doctoral theses and 8 master's theses were successfully defended under the scientific direction of B. Arapov. He actively oversaw master's theses, students' culminating projects.

International scientific conferences on the issues of condensed matter physics were held at Osh State University with the involvement of scientists from the CIS nations under his participation and guidance.

High-level scientific and methodological lectures, practical seminars, and laboratory sessions were taught by Arapov B.A. As the chairman of the specialized dissertation council at Osh State University, he actively participated in the training of new scientists ("Physics of Condensed Substances").

Arapov B.A. received numerous honors for his long years of productive work, including the Honorary Diploma of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Honorary Diploma of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, the honorary title of Honored Scientist of the Kyrgyz Republic, the diploma of the Ministry of Secondary and Higher Education of the USSR, the Labor Veteran medal, the gold medal "Di Merito," the diploma of the EU chamber and Nobel medal.

The Osh State University faculty and the scientific community in Kyrgyzstan offer their sincere condolences to the deceased's family and friends and share their sorrow for their loss. We will always cherish the memory of a superb scientist, caring mentor, and wonderful person.
